Visit suggests announcement of UK-EU solution on Northern Ireland could come as early as Thursday
Rishi Sunak is to travel to Belfast on Thursday night in a sign that a deal on the Northern Ireland protocol is imminent.
There is also speculation that the foreign secretary, James Cleverly, will travel to Brussels on Friday, although this has not been confirmed.
